Banh Mi My Tho Reviews

Truly one of the most delicious Banh sandwiches we've ever had. Service is fast and friendly, prices are decent and best of all - sandwiches are delicious! Totally worth the 30 minutes drive for us! Recommend getting there early (anytime before 11) to avoid a packed parking lot, but you can always park a block away.

My FAVORITE BANH MI shop! It is my go-to place ~ perfect for lunch, picnic, road trip, literally anything! I always order the #9 (Charbroiled Beef Banh Mi) and their pandan cake is delish! I've been going here well over 7+ yrs, you can't beat it.

-CASH ONLY -Closed on Mondays Banh Mi My Tho has the BEST grill pork banh mi sandwich (Bánh mì thịt nướng) in town and beyond; also known as number 8 on the menu. A must get! Their Second best seller is Vietnamese Special combination cold cut sandwich (Bánh mì đặc biệt). Delicious but not my favorite here. I prefer: Ba Le, My Dung, Hue Thai Bakery; or Valley Sandwiches in Reseda, Ca for Dac Biet Banh Mi - Vietnamese Cold Cut Sandwiches. Banh Mi My Tho has: Three locations total, but I must say that this Alhambra location (original) is my personal FAVORITE because it's ran by mom n pop; the other two locations are in Rosemead and are ran by the owners adult children. All locations are solid; slightly different in hours of operation and the newer locations take credit card payment.

I'm from the Bay and to me it feels like its getting more and more rare to get quality banh mis without breaking the bank. I'm sure there are a bunch of places, but it's harder to find. Banh mi my tho however, makes me want to move down to SoCal just so I can get a good banh mi for less than 9$! I got 4 special cold cut combos and 2 charbroiled pork sandwiches for less than 50$! That's almost unheard of to me. They were hefty banh mis too! I tried the special cold cut combo and it had the usual fixings in them. Vietnamese pork roll and ham, pickled radish, carrots, cucumbers, jalapenos, pate, and mayo, but something that stood out to me about this cold cut combo is that it also had charbroiled pork in there. I've never had a cold cut combo that also had charbroiled pork so that was a special surprise. The pork was sweet and savory at the same time and the bread was nice and toasty. Eating an entire one is a meal in itself. This place is cash only but for the price you can get like 10 and have lunch for a week without having an empty wallet!

I see why this is a gem in SGV! My rating is purely based on the beef banh mi. Definitely my go-to for beef banh mi from now on. Parking - Ample parking in the same lot as East International Bank. Ambiance - It's a quaint space. Take away only with a small selection of snacks and ready made food on the shelves. Service - It was a relatively short line for lunchtime on a week day. I had two people ahead of me and waited roughly five minutes till my number was called. Cash only at this establishment. Food - Beef banh mi was packed with meat and there was little to no fat. The pickled veggies had a heavy vinegar flavor which I didn't mind. I was pleasantly surprised to bite into peanuts! That was a great addition for texture. The bread wasn't the best but it's not a deal breaker. The $8.50 price tag seems steep but the amount of beef makes up for it.

I've been to quite a lot of banh mi places over the years, and I'd personally say that this place is still definitely the best banh mi place in the Greater Los Angeles area. There are multiple locations as well, but I prefer this Alhambra location the most because it has the largest menu. My personal favorites: - #1 Cold Cut Ham Sandwich - #2 Special Cold Cut Ham Sandwich - #8 Charbroiled Pork Sandwich - #9 Charbroiled Beef Sandwich - Espresso Iced Coffee My overall rating for the banh mi: 9.5/10

I've been wanting to come to the Vietnamese sandwich spot forever. It's always tough for me because I live pretty far away and they open and close pretty early. It's almost a small hole in the wall type spot where you can order your sandwiches and buy a few items and drinks. The people here are very kind/ helpful and it feels like a mom and pop type spot. I ended up ordering the special sandwich and the barbecue pork. The sandwiches here are pretty darn large and they definitely don't skimp on the toppings. This is a great spot for Vietnamese sandwiches and the parking is pretty plentiful as well since there is an allocated parking lot. Just a great Vietnamese sandwich spot where you can get large quality sandwiches at a reasonable price point.

There is a lot of great Banh mi in the sgv, but now I can see why this has been called the best. This is a quick service pick up restaurant. The lines may look long, but they are very efficient and get your food out quickly. I was very impressed by the quality of the meat and bread and overall flavor. A lot of places nearby serve very fatty pork, but this one was tender and juicy and I didn't really find pieces of fat. The bread was very soft on the inside but a perfect crunch on the very outer layer. Their egg rolls aren't really egg rolls but they are filled with all juicy delicious pork!! Nothing else. And they are so crispy. 10/10 (for all of it) What's even better is the price of everything. It is cash only, so come prepared, but the charbroiled pork sandwich is only $7! I think the egg rolls might be a dollar? Amazing value! Definitely want to try more sandwiches from here and would highly recommend them to others!

Authentic, affordable, and delicious Vietnamese sandwich place with the best baguette breads! Banh Mi My Tho holds a special place in my heart, and stomach, as my go-to Vietnamese sandwich place. It's not far from where I live and it is without a doubt, the best bang for your buck you can get when looking for a Vietnamese sandwich for quality and taste. Vietnamese baguettes have a hold over me and I hold each one to high standards. Don't take the baguettes here for granted because to me, it is what MAKES the sandwich THAT good. It has the perfect heavenly combination of crispiness on the outside and soft and warm goodness on the inside. The bread, paired with really any sandwich option they offer, always hits the spot. I usually get the OG which is the special cold cut sandwich. Whether you opt for a classic grilled pork or even a vegetarian egg sandwich, each bite is delicious. Whenever they have spring rolls available, I always get them as well. Every Vietnamese place makes this differently, to their own unique ways, but Banh Mi My Tho does it perfectly for me. Their shrimp + sliced pork combination with their sauce is what I look forward to the most. Not to mention, their pork meatball skewers are a customer favorite - if you don't come early enough, they run out quickly! I always get anxious if the customer in front of me takes all the pork meatball skewers...haha! Definitely treat yourself to their delicious Vietnamese sandwiches, famous pork meatballs, spring rolls, and more! I'll definitely be back time and time again!

Anyone else experience inconsistent quality of the banh mis or is it just me? Living close by, it's our go-to spot but lately it's been a hit or miss. Some days it's out of this world like all the other reviews, other times, it's a 3-star. This time we ordered some banh mis, rolls and a few skewers of the meatballs. The banh mis were good but the pickled carrot and daikon were so sour this time around. I usually love it - the more, the better. This time, I had to remove half of it. Besides that's the bread, meats and all were delish. The rolls are solid, nothing to rave about but if you have an itch for it, it's a good addition to the sandwiches. The meatball skewers never disappoint! They're absolutely delish!
